When the people are asked to stay at home…this sweet downtown waits to play.

Tuesday, March 25th, 2020, was a day that could not have been anticipated even a few short weeks earlier as these Central Wisconsin residents, enduring a cold winter, prepared for Spring with great anticipation. The day before, all Wisconsin residents were ordered to stay "safer at home” while our capable healthcare providers battle an invisible enemy. While the full impact of the “safer at home” order is yet to be seen… the immediate result left a cool cloudy early spring morning with still, quiet, downtown streets.

In the peace there remained much beauty to capture - much that normally would not have been noticed in the hustle and bustle of a Wednesday morning. The colors, the architecture, and the ambivalent spring blooms. We are thankful for the business owners and community members who preserve and keep our downtown Wausau beautiful...and we look forward to coming out to play again soon!
